Tamilnadu Student Innovators (TNSI) comes under the scheme of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Programme (IEDP) is a flagship programme of Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute (EDII-TN). TNSI is the annual Innovation challenge for college students organized by state level for selection of Innovators to the top 25 teams with an award of 1 lakh for each team. The event is creating entrepreneurs by scaling up the student ideas into minimum viable product and this programme has been conducted for the last four years.

K R Balaji, Team SPARKZ from the Department of Metallurgical Engineering at Government College of Engineering, Salem participated in the EDII-TN screening stages, which included the Awareness Programme, Idea Camp, Boot Camp, and Final pitch. 13300 teams from all over the state pitched in, and 56 of them were selected to make a final pitch on March 29, 2023, at Hindustan College of Arts and Science in Chennai, where they will pitch in front of the jury panel. On November 1, 2023, at Anna University in Chennai, our college student has been selected to receive a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh from Hon'ble Minister for MSME of Tamil Nadu, Mr. T. M. Anbarasan.

Our Innovation, Waste Water Treatment for Textile and Dyeing Industry towards pollution free society with help of Mentors Dr. S. Dhanalakshmi, AP, Department of Metallurgical Engineering, Dr. T. Venugopal, AP, Department of Chemistry and Dr. S. Gnanavel, Chairman of Chemkovil, Mettur and my friends M Jaffer Sadhiq , S Santhosh Kumar,
S Vigneshwaran, Jeevarathinam S and Thrisha B.
We have successfully enrolled in MSME as the initial phase of our startup innovation.
