Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering

  The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) was started in the year 1966 with an intake of 40 students. Over the years, the Department has steadily grown and currently the student's intake is 60. Along with Undergraduate (UG) programme, the department offers a Post graduate programme in Power Electronics & Drives and was started in the year 2003 with an intake of 18 students. The Department has research center approved by Anna University Chennai. The Department has sufficient research supervisors in variety of fields. The research center accommodates QIP sponsored research scholars.
 
  The UG Programme has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) ,New Delhi under TIER- I category for three years between 2018-19 and 2020-21. Choice based credit system is introduced in regulation 2016 and revision of the curriculum is carried out at regular intervals. The programme has one credit courses in the curriculum which are designed, delivered and evaluated by industry experts.The department has implemented the Model curriculum as per the AICTE 2018 Regulation.
 
  The Department has good infrastructure with well equipped laboratories and an exclusive Departmental library. The Department is regularly organizing programs like Conference, Seminar, Workshop, Guest lecture, Faculty Development Program etc sponsored by TEQIP, AICTE, Anna University and other funding organizations.
 
All the faculty of our department are qualified Ph.D and their remarkable teaching experienced are committed to achieve excellence in academic programs. Some of the faculty act as research Supervisors and has produced many Ph.dians. The Faculty has good record of journal publications in National and International level.
 
  Every year the EEE students association is organizing a National Technical symposium, named "Synergy", to motivate the students in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The Department periodically conducts several workshops with industry people, Guest lecturers with industry experts , Value added courses and Training programs for students to improve their technical skills.
 
  Student enrichment programmes like Internship training, Industrial visit, In-plant training, Placement training, Workshops, Symposia, Seminars, Conferences, IITM-PALS, Association activities, Sports activities, science club, NSS, NCC, YRC, Yoga, etc. are arranged regularly to improve the technical & Employability skills.
