Team SPARKZ Innovates and Excels: A Journey from College Project to Award- winning startup

Team SPARKZ from the Department of Metallurgical Engineering at the Government College of Engineering, Salem, has developed an innovative wastewater treatment solution for the textile industry. Their project gained recognition in the Tamil Nadu Student Innovators (TNSI) challenge, organized by the Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute (EDII-TN), where they were one of 25 teams selected from 13,300 to showcase their product demo. On November 1, 2023, they were awarded Rs. 1 lakh by the Hon'ble Minister for MSME of Tamil Nadu, Mr. T. M. Anbarasan.

Guided by Dr. S. Dhanalakshmi, Dr. T. Venugopal, and Dr. S. Gnanavel, team members
K. R. Balaji, M. Jaffer Sadhiq, S. Santhosh Kumar, S. Vigneshwaran, S. Jeevarathinam, and
B. Thrisha. successfully registered their startup, "Rabbit Enviro Tech," with MSME.

After a year of hard work, Team SPARKZ were honored at the EDII-TN Achievers Meet held at Shri Sakthikailssh Women’s College, Salem on November 19, 2024, by Thiru R. Ambalavanan IAAS, Director of EDII-TN, and other esteemed leaders. Their accomplishments as entrepreneurs were recognized and K. R. Balaji inspired attendees by sharing his success story and discussing the challenges faced along the way. This event underscores the impact of innovation and determination in achieving entrepreneurial dreams.
