Department of Metallurgical Engineering

 Students of the Metallurgical Engineering are active members of the Society for the Advancement of Metallurgical Engineering (SFAME), which imparts creativity and technical skills and also organises inter and intra college symposiums cum seminar. The Department of Metallurgy creates the moulders of the world and it is dedicated to produce a number of technocrats every year. The faculties are very well experienced and motivating and impart knowledge with a practical sense.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) approved by the MHRD has been operational since 29th September 2015. Why GCE Grads?

  • Government College of Engineering, Salem-11, was started during the Third Five year plan in the year 1966 and is located on a 162 hectares site surrounded by hills GCE,Salem was then the Third Engineering Institution in Tamil Nadu. The first batch of students was selected for the academic year 1966-1967.The institution offers  6 UG and 5 PG programmes.
